Premed 100
Hi everyone, Could some of you explain to me whether Microbiology and Immunology is a good program to get into medicine at either UdeM (after 1+ year of bachelors) or McGill? Is it possible to distinguish yourself in the courses to get a good CRU for french med schools? Or if studying at UdeM in Biomedical Sciences a better option? Gooner
Its all about gpa and extracurriculars based on what i've read in past threads. Select a program that you and enjoy and that will be a good backup incase med never happends.

Albertan10
it's true a good GPA is all that matters for english schools. however for french schools they take into consideration the level of difficulty of the major, certain french schools have a formula depending on the major. you should post this in the french med school forums if you haven't already. just keep in mind that microbio first year is pretty much the same as in any other science major. i do know that biochem is a good option for french schools and is quite similar to microbio. these aren't the easiest science majors, so it may be advantageous to take harder majors for french universities, but it might not be the best option for english ones where you struggle to get top end marks.
