Jukie
Hey all! So the new applicant manual is going to be released today July 6th and the application system will be open on July 15th. I had a semi-completed app already on the system, and it's been deleted. So make sure you wait until the 15th. Good luck everyone! Jukie
Updated application manual for 2010/2011 applicants to U of C med is now available. There are a few changes. For example there is now a 3 year minimum for eligible undergrads. I have also noted substantial changes to their aboriginal admissions policy. There is more but I haven't made it through yet. Also the # of students accepted used to be 180 but last year was 170 and its unlikely to go up
onamountain
I can see why they took away the option for second years to apply - they've hardly accepted any in the past several years. I guess this makes U of A the only English-speaking school to accept 2nd year applicants then?
TheBoss
UofS takes 2nd year applicants as well, and they take quite a few actually. Are there any French-speaking schools that take 2nd years? I thought UofA, UofS (and formerly UofC) were the only ones?
onamountain
Cool, I didn't know that about UofS. As for the QC schools, they take applicants out of CEGEP, which would be the equivalent of having finished first year undergrad (timewise). kdd737
It also looks like they are doing all of the interviews in one weekend as opposed to the two weekends they have held in the past...perhaps there will be half as many interviews this year. Obiwonkenobi
just wondering if anyone has had problems filling out the citizenship part of the application. I fill it out and press the save and continue button and nothing happens. Anyone else have this problem?
astrogirl
I just went and checked, and I have the same issue with the citizenship thing.
LostLamb
yea, this is a glitch and is not the only glitch in the program. Someone will have to call on Monday and ask them to fix it. They are very quick to resolve issues!
Obiwonkenobi
ya same with the first section where you click the box. I click on it and it says I haven't done it yet. I can call on monday but I live in ontario. If anyone in Calgary can call and post that would workout better.
