globy321
Hi guys. I am applying for a passport to travel to the USA and I am filling out the simplified application form. Does anyone know whether you are allowed to put you doctor as a reference to confirm your identity?

astrogirl
Yeah, I asked first, and he was totally fine with it. I think I put the office number. Also, I've applied for passports twice now, and not a single one of my references has actually ever been called.
astrogirl
Oh, and I don't know if you've ever done this before, but if you go in person to apply for it, plan on being there the entire day. Not even kidding. The first time I was there for three hours (in Calgary), the second time I was there for six hours (in Halifax). So bring food and something to entertain yourself. I went to the Toronto office twice. First time, I was in and out in 5 minutes The second time, I was in and out after 10 minutes They opened at 8 or 8:30, and I got there at 8:45. Gotta get there early to avoid lines
