tmac1
hi, could someone shed some light as to the relative weightings of american med schools admissions (gpa, mcat, extracurriculars, interview)? although each school is different, on average, are the distributions roughly: 15% gpa, 20% mcat, 15% extracurriculars, 50% interview? thanks for the replies. JediMaster
what the hell? mcat is more than the gpa?!?!?!?! Yes, that generally seems to be the trend. if you look at accepted averages across the board, there are plenty of schools with sub-3.7 accepted averages (something pretty much unheard of in Canada) but the MCAT levels are still high 30+. So just from that data, it seems that US schools are more MCAT heavy.
tmac1
anyone have rough estimates according to what others have said or their personal experiences? anyone care to venture (educated) guesses? thanks.
The Law
Honestly, each school is so different that I don't think you will be able to get an answer. Your best bet is to use MSAR to gauge what kinda stats each school is looking for.
