scissortail
I've noticed that Alberta is pretty relaxed about who you can use as a reference, including co-workers. I used to work in a summer student in a lab and I'm considering asking one of the Ph.D students there to be my reference. Would that qualify as co-worker? I do have a professor as my other references but I just feel like professors tend to know me more academically whereas this Ph.D student knows me more as a person since we worked together. I'm asking because I feel like for any other med school I would be advised to not use a Ph.D student as a reference, since most schools want somebody in a supervisor position. What do you guys think? future_doc
If co-workers are alloowed/permitted, you are good to go. GL!
scissortail
I have another quick question. Does anyone know if the reference is actually required to write a letter or is it just short answer to stated questions?
future_doc
Usually med school require a Confidential Assessment Form and somewhere on it, it would say LORs are welcome if submitted. I have no knowledge whatsoever about U/A but there should be information on their website or in the Application material, no?
Wut?
I have another quick question. Does anyone know if the reference is actually required to write a letter or is it just short answer to stated questions? The U of A reference is an actual letter that has to fulfill several criteria outlined in the LOR form that must be attached by the referee to the letter.
