blending_in
This seems kind of trivial but would a test center allow you to bring tissue and put it clearly on the table if you had a runny nose? I imagine they would be a bit concerned about people putting notes on them but it would be a HUGE distraction if your nose was running the whole test
takashi
Actually at my last mcat sitting I had a running nose because of a lingering cold. I asked one of the invigilators if I could keep some tissue with me. I showed them the brand new packet that I brought and they let me bring it to my desk. I didn't even use one during the test. I guess I was so focused that the mucous in my nose didnt bother me .
blending_in
That's some intense focusing power you've got! I guess I'll bring a package in case my nose happens to be uncooperative that day...
Cnussey
My testing site would not permit that...if I took my hair buckle out and put in on the desk, they'd confiscate it. They provided water and tissues for us.
kylamonkey
I was actually allowed some dextrose/salt pills. I am not diabetic, but I find they help with my blood pressure issues. I was never asked to explain them, and they were in a small ziploc. maybe it was against the rules, but I wasn't called for it.
imperfection
It really depends on your center. Ours wouldn't let us bring in tissues of our own, but they had tissues that would be provided for us if we needed any. Just ask to be sure once you're there. thatonekid
Bring your tissues, but if they don't let you take them in, then ask them if they can get some tissues for you. It won't be a big deal.
future_doc
The law of unintended consequences - by having tissues at the ready, history dictates you may not need them.
