SAcanada
During the interview...do they ask questions testing your knowledge of the field/speciality? Or do they try to get to know you as a candidate?
NLengr
I think it depends on the specialty and the program. I was never asked any technical questions during my interviews. I imagine that they are more likely to ask you technical questions if you never did an elective at that location. If you have, then they should have developed an idea about your knowledge over the 2+ weeks, and would feel less obligated to try and assess it during an interview. Darla
It definitely depends on the specialty - FM and paeds are all about getting to know you, surgical specialty will ask technical questions, psych and obs will ask ethical questions. Talking to someone who has interviewed previously for the program you want to apply to will be invaluable since each specialty is so very different. Lactic Folly
Completely program (and year) dependent. To be safe, be prepared for all types of questions.
