Guest copacetic
what are the most innovative cardiac surgery programs in canada currently. Not necessarily the ones with the best reputation. U of T has a good reputation but there isnt much going on there in terms of real innovation in cardiac surgery except maybe in assist devices and basic science research. mcortel
Dr. Marc Ruel is a very well regarded cardiac surgeon (I know he's involved with an innovative approach at min. invasive CABG) at the Ottawa Heart Institute. Dr. Mesana is another acclaimed surgeon at the same institute.
Guest copacetic
That pretty much echos what i heard from one resident. namely that ottawa and london were good programs. apparently U of Ts reputation pretty much rides on one guy (Tirone David). I mean from my understanding toronto doesnt even have robotic heart surgery... by the way, why are they attaching the correx device to the descending aorta? why not just attach it to the ascending aorta.
