I am interested in knowing what your elective experience was like. Also, has anyone done an obs/gyn elective at McMaster? I am not sure if I should do an elective in obs/gyn at Mac or UofT. Thanks! flying kumquat Posted March 1, 2011 Report Share Posted March 1, 2011 I did a 2-week ICU elective two years ago in Ottawa. The General campus (where I did my elective) is the more medical ICU, whereas the Civic campus is the more surgical ICU. It was a good experience. As a med student, I had responsibility for 2 patients for the day with appropriate oversight. There was opportunity to do things like central lines and good teaching by the staff and fellows.
