ramsey
Has anyone ever considered doing a Masters in Health Informatics? I can't decide between doing a Masters in Public Health or Informatics. Does anyone have any insight into which one will yield greater job opportunities? I don't have any IT background but I heard it won't matter once you enter the program because you will learn along the way. Thanks.
keepontrying
MPH will allow you to become an epidemiologist if you specialize in that field. If not, then it's really too general of a degree for job opportunities unless you are a health professional already (Public Health Nurse, MD, etc). You can also apply to become a field epidemiologist down the road. MHI will lead you to surveillance work, census, and other types of health data that are collected routinely. You'll be working as a surveillance analyst, public health analyst, data control manager, etc.
