Cubelogger
After reading through UofC's "MD Admissions FAQ," I was left wondering what exactly they consider as a "Full-Time Year". For example, would taking 8 half-year courses count as a full-time year (*24 credits)? Or does a full-time year constitute only years in which a maximum course load was taken (ie: *30 credits)? Also, if for instance one were to get a 3.60 GPA in a year of *24 credits, and a 3.80 GPA in a year of *30 credits, would the admissions committee calculate that student's average to be 3.70? Or would the *30 credit year be weighted more heavily than the *24 credit year?
astrogirl
Assuming they don't change it this year, it's 24 credits, not 30 (or 8 courses or whatever). Edit: And I'm not sure about the GPA question, because on the application it only shows GPA for each year. I don't know how or if they calculate a cGPA. cleanup
Does U of C take the best two years with 24+ credits? That's what this thread and the FAQ on the website seem to indicate but I am unsure. Please advise!
Asta
Does U of C take the best two years with 24+ credits? That's what this thread and the FAQ on the website seem to indicate but I am unsure. Please advise! Yes, but only to see if you get to full file review. At full file review, they look at the whole academic record.
