Unknown786
Is there any specification over the duration for which the refree should know you? I do have quite a few people who can write me a good reference letter, but will only have known me for 6 months to an year to the max.
Lactic Folly
In general, longer is better, but your main criteria should be who knows you well and who can write you a strongly supportive letter.
future_doc
I knew a prof for slightly more than one semester, I led his small class, participated actively in discussions, we chatted after class. He wrote a strong and credible LOR advocating for my acceptance, all gaps in his knowledge were filled in by my updated CV, transcript and a personally addressed motivational letter to him.
