monty
Hello, My cpga is 3.75/4 and with the lowest year dropped my gpa becomes 3.84/4. I scored an 11 on my VR section. I was wondering what you guys thought my chances were to make it through the OOP cutoff? If I make it through I have a lot of EC's that I hope will give me a shot! Thanks,
thehumanmacbook
3.84 is a good number, but in my perspective (and maybe Erk and co. can correct me if I'm wrong) traditionally OOP GPA acceptance were a bit higher with the previous rules. Now with just VR, App, and wGPA (calg GPA calc, lowest year drop) it might be a bit harder because everyone gets the lowest year drop and the GPA will go up for OOP...VR is worth maybe 10% of the app. Nonetheless, definitely apply it's only a few bucks in the long wrong and you'll never know! thehumanmacbook
yup I meant that...sorry guys, been a long week. The app is looked at AFTER cutoff has been made for top 200. My guess would be somewhere above 3.9 GPA and >10 VR this year....this is just an estimate, again Erk and those who are at Calg can comment more on this. EDIT: So OP, your chances could improve if you make it top 200 based on VR and GPA alone.
christinawang1990216
Just wondering for OOP,the criteria is 2* GPA+ VR,is it simply adding those two numbers up? Or it means the GPA counts twice as much as VR. If it is the former, a difference in GPA doesn't really matter.
