Guest tongtongcuty
Hi, for Canadian studying at US, applying through Carms, how competitive to get into either FP or IM in Ontario and BC? If I apply everywhere in BC and ON, what's the chance of landing one of those? Thanks

ubcredfox
Every applicant is different, but if you have electives in IM and Family, and perhaps a couple of strong reference letters from each specialty, then you shouldn't have any issues. Having said that, UBC is smaller then all of Ontario with its many med schools. So I think you'd certainly have a much better shot of matching in Ontario. There are multiple unfilled family medicine spots in Ontario in the 2nd round, so I would say your chances of matching to family in Ontario are very good. How good, you can gauge for yourself when interview offers come out. More interviews, better chance.
