mcater2006
Dear Premed forumers: I have submitted a manuscript to a journal and it is undergoing peer-review right now. Can I show it on the publication section of my CaRMS CV? Thanks, mcater2006
NLengr
I put unpublished articles that were being reviewed in my research section. I then put a note on that entry it was submitted for review to X journal. I left the published stuff for the published section.
mcater2006
Thanks NLengr. And in a similar vein. Is it ok to put the abstract of my unpublished-as-of-yet manuscript as an extra document into CaRMS?
NLengr
Thanks NLengr. And in a similar vein. Is it ok to put the abstract of my unpublished-as-of-yet manuscript as an extra document into CaRMS? Couldn't hurt I suppose. That's what I did for programs that asked for abstracts. Nobody complained.

susainta
Two questions: 1. For papers that have yet to be accepted, could we simply check "publication date" -> "pending"? 2. If we do so, do we have to submit the paper and/or abstract in "attach documents"? Thanks!!!
sleeping_sickness
i'm pretty sure i put my submitted paper as 'pending'. i had presented the project at a couple of conferences so the abstract was technically 'published'. i submitted the abstract in the documents part. cwang293
One more question, if an abstract is scheduled to be presented at a conference, should I list it under abstract or coference?
susainta
Just to make sure: on the CaRMS profile, we only have to submit abstracts when the work is published, correct? I don't think it is appropriate to send in an abstract that is not published. What do you think ?
cwang293
But you can choose pending for publication date for abstract or paper. So I m assuming you can put it under publication ?
