# of courses

Hello all! I'm an Ontario student and am confused re: the application section "Academic Information, Semester/Yearly Progress." When it asks for the # of courses, what is MUN's equivalent for 5 full-year courses taken in Ontario, aka 10 half-year credits in a 2-semester year?

I guess what I'm saying is, how many 'courses' does MUN consider as a full-course load? 10? Does a full year course spanning 2 semesters count as 1 course or 2?

Sorry for being so confusing :\

How about 12 semester hours per semester? Would that be considered full-time? In my univeristy, 12 semester hours/semester = fulltime. Anything less than 12 meant part-time. How does MUN view this?

This is the sort of thing that you should really call the admissions office about to get a solid answer.

At MUN, one "course" runs for one "semester" which is ~3.5 months, which you get 3 credits for. Five of these "courses" constitutes a maximal course load in any given semester. For example, when I took a year of organic chemistry, it was two courses over two semesters, for 3 credits each or 6 credits in total. So a full time year at MUN means you took 10 courses over two semesters (one year).

I'd say this is still as clear as mud, so I'd suggest calling the office to get a clearer answer.

Good Luck
