futuredoc101
Hi I would like to switch between IM residencies. I am a currently a pgy2 but I was offered a position at a better institute in a different state that is closer to where my family is at. My wife has been depressed here and she wants to be closer to her family and her friends. Is this a valid reason for me to switch between programs and will this reason be enough to convince my program director. Thank you all the help is appreciated

justletmein
Why don't you post this on SDN where there are far more people qualified to answer your question especially since you seem to be training in the US. This is a canadian forum. As far as switching, if there is a program which has accepted to take you on, I don't see why you would need to "convince" your current program director... He cant stop you from leaving.
