Visual acuity requirements for ophthalmology?

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone,

Could any current residents or ophtho hopefuls shed some light on the vision requirements for getting accepted into ophthalmology programs? I heard you have to have 20/20 with or without glasses/contacts and stereopsis. Anything else? How exactly do they test these abilities? At the interview? Or they demand a medical report?

Also, if dont have good stereopsis, should I just give up on pursuing ophthalmology or can it be improved somehow?

Thanks in advance!
