Score for rural status ?

Recommended Posts

I've read in a couple of threads that applicants are given a score 0-13 based on their "rural status"

eg.

Anyone know the official source for this? I searched through their website and could not find anything...

Page 6 refers to the 13% coefficient.

I don't think you would get much of a rural coefficient (if any) for that. The logic behind the rural coefficient is that students who live(d) or work/volunteer in a rural setting will be more inclined to practice in a rural community. This is solely my speculation, but I don't think many applicants will come close to achieving a 13% coefficient. Most of them are probably in the 0-7% range. I'm not sure anybody really knows though.
