profs vs teachers?

I was wondering, is it better to get a ref letter from a prof that doesnt really know you from bob, or a high school teacher who thinks you walk on water and could do no wrong (and coincidentally would write a really kickass letter on your behalf if you just ask)? Basically, do med schools discriminate against high school referances?
