keith_015
Can I apply for a US residency (say EM) after I finish my Canadian FM residency? Nothing stopping you, but why would you want to do a FM residency first? Don't think they have a 1yr post-FM like Canada if you are looking at ER. If yes, what kind of candidate will I be? One that has experience in primary care, possibly some ER if rural, but has wasted 2yrs doing a FM residency, and possibly taken a spot somebody else should have gotten instead. does anyone know if the eligibility varies from state to state? You actually mean institution by institution. You need a visa to go down there and every school will have a non-uniform policy on this. Not to seem like a smart a$$, but I don't think you've done any serious research on this on your own. Try harder.
