McGill Opthalmology

Recommended Posts

Hey guys I was looking at the residents at McGill Ophhalmology (below), and I noted something kind of strange. It looks to me like they select almost exclusively Middle Eastern candidates, and that there are more residents than the quota (4 this year) would indicate.

Does anyone know why this is? i.e. are there some non-CARMS residents there?

I'm just wondering because as a non-minority it would seem like I would have almost no shot at McGill...

mcgill trains doctors from saudi arabia whose government pay big $$$... in general, the agreement is they will return to their home country once they complete their training.

they are present in many specialties, mostly surgical.

they do not apply through carms.
