Guest desiguy8179
Is there any information source for royal college or family med certifyting exams like pass rate for different exams and how different programs/univ. graduates fare in them. I heard recently Mcgill grads fared badly in family mrd certifying exams. So I wonder if that can be a criteria to judge the strength of a program. Guest marbledust
According to the program on CBC I listened to a few days ago, 37% percent of new grads failed the qualifying exam to practice medicine in Quebec (I think that was the exam?--the program was somewhat vague on the exact test). The prof (dean?) from McGill they interviewed didn't seem overly concerned about it, stating the failure rate for all Quebec schools is around 15% every year. Actually, the program didn't really look at the reasons for the high failure rate, just more or less stated that it was bad news for family medicine in Quebec. Maybe one of our posters from Quebec has more insight into the issue....
