IamIDP
I have both the TPR and Examkracker books and I noticed both have completely opposite strategies: Examkrackers: Don't skip anything Just do the passages Don't look at the timer, it just wastes time TPR: Do the easiest passages 1st Skip the toughest passage so you get more time to do the other 6 Time yourself accordingly (approx. 1 min. / per question) I am wondering which strategy is better? I find the TPR to be very Unconvincing because if you skip 1 passage and end up guessing it, the max. you will score is 11 assuming everything else is perfect. What do you guys think? Prof.A.DumbleDore
Up to you see what strategy works for you. But skipping around is distracting and is a waste of valuable time in my opinion.
MCATwannabe
Yeah I wouldn't skip around too much either. I would just read the passage, not even take notes. Highlight if you want but writing stuff will slow you down. Trust me I've done all these techniques many times over, and the highlight technique works best. RAPTORS99
TPR strategy sounds like a waste of time IMO. But I would try a few passages a day with slightly different approaches and see what works for you. Always make sure you practice under timed conditions ! kpm
When I used Princeton strategy, I consistently got 9 or 10. When I switched to EK strategy, I consistently get 11 to 13. EK saved my butt. Do the EK method!! Princeton wastes your time and stresses you out. Also totally agreed that skipping a passage is REALLY BAD.
