Guest Ian Wong Posted August 18, 2003 Report Share Posted August 18, 2003 Here's an interesting section of the AMA website, which deals with the CPT billing codes used by each specialty to get reimbursement for their procedures/visits. ie: you can figure out what a US physician would make if they performed an appendectomy on you, and were then reimbursed through Medicare. Of note is that private insurance fees are usually a fair bit higher than the fees paid through Medicare, which I believe is federally-regulated. Just select "Keyword(s) in descriptor", and enter in a keyword to look up the corresponding fee for that procedure/visit.
