Handsome88
Is it possible for an IMG to do IM residency in the US and then apply for a subspecialty (eg. cardio/GI) in Canada? If so, how hard is it to get?
A-Stark
It's going to vary by province/school a bit, so you should read through this page on the CaRMS website. In general, yes, it is (probably) possible, but certainly more difficult. I can't say to what degree, though.

I found this on the website "IMGs in U.S. Core Internal Medicine programs are to be ranked after the Ontario IMGs." Well that takes Cards and GI out. Blondie888
There may be some restrictions for application if you have a return of service agreement with the internal medicine program.. but I've heard you can buy it out for a few hundred grand
