Nick30
As I move forward with my research I am seeing more and more that going to a Caribbean Med School will almost guarantee not getting a US or Canadian Residency in four years so... If I were to go to Australia, what are the odds of attaining a residency there? Would I then be able to come back to Canada, US?
Vidhya
From what I understand Australia won't fund residencies for foreign students. Essentially all Australian nationals take first priority, so I'm not sure if any positions remain afterwards. My take on Australia is that it looks more prestigious due to being a commonwealth country, but in reality they are recruiting international students to help offset the cost of educating their own citizens. I need to find the article, but I found one written in an Australian paper where it debated the ethics of educating all these international students which they essentially kick to the curb afterwards.
