jade032
Hi all, I'm in my 4th year of a BscN degree and I know 100% that I want to persue a graduate degree but I have a few questions. If anyone has finished an NP program, how hard is it to get into? I read on the website you need a 3.0/4.0 but I suppose that's just the minimum? My GPA is strong but I don't want to be shocked later to find out that it's a 3.9 or something.... What schools offer a certificate in acute care? I'm doing my final focus in emerg, and I plan to work in that area for atleast another two years but should I just look for an adult primary care certificate? Career wise I know I want to do this but financially I need to be able to justify it aswell. I looked up salaries for NPs and it's in the 80-100k range. As a new RN I can make fairly close to that with shift differentials (possibly overtime). What about funding? Do most people take out loans or get funding for masters? I also have two young children. Any advice would be helpful, thanks.
