thebluthfamily
I know that most Canadian med schools mark you on a pass/fail basis, so that you actually learn for the sake of learning. Is that the same in American schools?
DoubleA
I know that most Canadian med schools mark you on a pass/fail basis, so that you actually learn for the sake of learning. Is that the same in American schools? Some do, some don't and some mix it up between years. You'd hear about it more in detail at your interview, but you should be able to find the answers on your own with some research.

thebluthfamily
pass fail gives you no incentive to study I would disagree. My incentives to study would be a) I find the material interesting and I don't want to kill my patients. Besides, you're still going to have to study for future tests like Step 1. Also, there's self respect and respect for those that chose you to be part of the accepted class and respect for those that missed out on the opportunity because you are taking one of the limited seats.
