PA acceptance information

Recommended Posts

Hey everyone, for those of you who applied into a PA program could you give some general information about your application stats.

GPA, degree or how many years of undergrad complete, health care experience.

Hey VCanuck,

I applied to both Manitoba and McMaster, but was not granted an interview at either institution. I had a 3.02 undergrad from UofT in Biochem and Human Bio, and a Master's in stem cell biology from the dentistry dept of UofT with a GPA of 3.85 with 2 publications and multiple posters/presentations. I had 3 years experience volunteering in a fam med clinic, 2 years volunteering with Sickle Cell Association of Ontario, camp counsellor, swimming instructor, among other things.

Keep in mind that getting into a PA program is arguably harder than getting into med school in Canada now. Consider nursing - I'm starting the accelerated nursing program in Sep at UofT. Good luck to you!
