RandomGuy102
Pharmacy school is a back-up plan in case I don't get into med school, but I don't have a back up plan if I get rejected from pharm school too. Do I need a back up plan? How stiff is the competition to get into pharm school?
bxylq
I also applied to both medicine and pharmacy. I only applied to the University of Waterloo for pharmacy but I know at least with that school there seems to be an advantage to those with pharmacy experience. I would recommend trying to work in a pharmacy, it will give you a better idea of whether it's for you or not. I also found that it helped not just with the pharmacy applications but in my med interview I had a lot of experiences dealing with patients in a healthcare setting to talk about which I found beneficial.
