chikachika
I had my FM interview at McMaster this weekend and thought it went pretty well. I'm wondering if anyone from a past cycle/from a selection committee knows how Mac actually ranks candidates after interviews...it seems that they didn't even bother looking at our applications before granting interviews to basically everyone that applied this year, and there were ALOT of candidates. Are they still going to evaluate the rest of our file even after interviews? Also, how much of a weight are interviews given at this stage? Thanks! proton
I have heard that they only review the files of those who interviewed well. I have no idea if it's true or not, it's just what someone told me.
ER scrub
I thought the fact that programs (most) don't tell you how much the file and interview are worth means that they are giving themselves a ton of discretion, and therefore interviews have the potential to make or break you (ie if the PD happens to interview you and likes you, you're in). At least this is what I would hope as I still think personality matters quite a bit and it can't be conveyed accurately on paper. Btw, I am commenting just on FM.
