hmmm... is THIS ethical???

So here's a purely hypothetical question for all of you ...

 

Let's say you are interviewing at an unnamed ontario med school. First of all your interviewer is late, allowing you the wonderful opportunity to sit outside the room and stare at the wall for an extra ten minutes.

 

Then, when the individual does arrive he/she brings you in and informs you that he "lives right around the corner from you", knows people in your family quite well, his kids went to your highschool and they know you. But it's okay because she "Doesn't know your parents or you personally, only knows of you."

 

And as a final twist, she interrupts you mid-question to talk to the other interviewer about water, reads while you are answering your questions, and actually asks a similar question to one already asked and is suprised by your answer (ie wasn't listening the first time).

 

Now I'm not a big complainer or anything but this whole experience seemed a little odd to me. I'm sure I should just let it go but it does annoy me... What would you guys do?

here's the scenario (read it in medical ethics book this morning):

 

You are a genetic counselor. You discover that your patient has a rare genetic disorder that can be fatal. There is a high probability that his sister has the disorder as well. He refuses to offer his sister this information. Should you?
