I've been doing some mock interviews for my UWO interview, and i also just completed my interview at UofS....

In my UofS interview, i was asked....'pick a national current event, and talk about it'......well, i decided to choose the sponsorship scandal...which was a HUGE mistake....most of what is known about the scandal is heresay...so really I didnt have that much to say other than opinion...which is fine, but the answer was really short...b/c for hte most part everyone probably has basically the same feelings on this issue (i.e. how did so much money go missing, who is responsible blah blah blah)

 

 

now, b/c of this....i've taken a different route in my last few mocks....specifically, when asked about national events...i simply list a few important ones (i.e. health care, sponsorship, conservative leadership)...and hten talk in detail about something very important to me....the state of HOCKEY in Canada...basically looking a the declining interest, possibility of a lockout and perhaps the folding of the flames and the oilers, and lastly, the todd bertuzzi incident.

 

If someone brought this up in a 'real' interview...would you think the person was completely out to lunch?
