flytotheblue
Do we get any health insurance (travel medical) as a resident? I'm entering my 3rd year of medical school and I'm currently shopping around for a LOC + bank + credit card.Currently, at UBC, if you are a 3rd/4th year med student, you can opt into the extended health insurance (which includes $5M travel medical insurance, 120 days per trip) that is offered to all UBC students. In this case, the ScotiaGold Passport VISA ($1M travel medical, 31 days per trip) is not much of an incentive in terms of travel medical insurance. However, if we don't get any insurance during residency, then it can be worthwhile to have the ScotiaGold Passport VISA with annual fees waived. Thanks for any input on insurance during residency..
