<pagetext>I've applied to Dalhousie and some Ontario schools. I have decided that I would like to be considered in the Maritime pool at Dal but this means I have to relinquish my home province status. I received the conformation notice from McMaster and have sent it back with the appropriate change but was wondering what I should do for the other schools. I was pretty sure that UofT and Queen's don't really care at all but am considering calling them just in case

I think McMaster and Ottawa (I suppose NOMS too, although I'm not too familiar with their requirements) are the only Ontario schools that care about residence status. Good choice, by the way. Unless you're set on going to McMaster, you're better off residing in a province other than Ontario.

I go to school in BC, but am technically a resident of Ontario. MAC knows my permanent address (Ontario) and uses my school one (BC) for now.

 

I have been classified as OOP for interview purposes. Does this mean that my residency will be determined in the same way?

How will Dal know that MAC considers you to be an ON resident?

I think I read somewhere that they check to make sure you did relinquish home province residency...I wouldn't know how they would go about that but I think that once my exams have settled down after this week I'm going to have to make some calls...

I thought that Dalhousie no longers allows you to be consider a resident there just b/c you had went to school there for 3 years.

if you read the university calendar it says that if you are Canadian and have been attending a maritime university for three consecutive years you can apply in the maritime pool provided that you relinquish your residency in your home province

 

I went into the admissions office to check and I am being considered part of the maritime pool

Did everyone get the email today sent by OMSAS?? I can't recall if they verified our emails last year. At any rate, I am wondering if this means that they may notify us by email (like Ottawa already has been doing) regarding acceptances... or even regarding interview invites. What do you guys think?? Interview invites would still require a "thickvelope" filled with maps and schedules and the like. But wouldn't it be nice if they could inform us at the same time all across the country (or beyond)??

 

Anyway, hope you're all having a great day. It's 25 degrees celsius where I am. Sweeeet. Miss the snow though.
