Guest Rome1
I am just planning out what courses to take for the Fall semester. I am also considering working at a Centre for students with disabilities. I think it will be worthwhile experience. Considering my time commitment to a paid position, i think that i will have less time for extracurriculars/volunteering. However, I will be able to maintain two good volunteer positions. How will part-time work during the school year be looked upon by med adcom? Any input from those who worked part-time during the school year and still managed to get into med school would be greatly appreciated.
Guest me maniac
I worked 4-5 8 hour shifts (night shifts) during undergrad. I only took 4 classes though. The work thing didn't hurt me, but the only-4-classes did hurt me upon applying. Many schools want 5 courses each term. Do what you can to volunteer, work what you must, but my recommendation is to not forgoe the 5 course rule to do them. Just my experience. me
