medicalchanel
I have done the previous (pre-2015) MCAT and received scores of Physical Sci: 8 Biological Sci: 10 Verbal: 9 (previous attempt: 8, 10, 10 respectively) I am interested in getting into one of the following medical schools (in no particular order): - University of Toronto - Western - Queens University - McMaster University - University of Ottawa I am planning on applying this fall (2015). Should I retake the MCAT this summer or keep my scores as is? I would re-write but I am afraid of obtaining lower scores than I currently have! Any input would be appreciated - thanks in advance! 116E118
You are below the cutoffs for Western and UofT (you can find both easily enough by googling). I believe Queens usually looks for 10+ in verbal. GPA and ECs is what matters for Ottawa since the MCAT is not required. Only verbal is looked at from the MCAT by McMaster; it's not a hard cutoff so if you have a stellar CASPer and GPA then it may be fine. If you want a chance at Western, UofT, or Queens you'll have to get your MCAT scores up.
