johnstickienote
Hi all, just wondering if anybody has any perspectives on how possible / realistic it is for a completely non-trad student to get in to a residency like Radiology based solely? I know what you do during med school is what really matters (in terms of EC, Research, Electives, etc) but to what extent can these kinds of experiences be initiated during med school with (practially) zero background in physics, chem, etc? I don't think I'm considering radiology personally at least at the moment, but I am wondering whether there are a fair number of people who decide on this specialty during med school and pursue it successfully, who don't have an undergraduate background in physics or pure sciences. Lactic Folly
You don't need a physical sciences background to do radiology.
thestar10
Met an awesome rads resident at Western who is a non trad. She worked for years as a nurse up north before going into meds in her 30s. Initially thought family but fell in love with rads. It's definitely possible!
