Guest hatewaiting
Hey guys, I found this article in the Globe and Mail and thought it was a very interesting look at family practice. It is written by a tenured and well-respected general practitioner in Toronto. Check it out! www.theglobeandmail.com/s...ealth/home -HW

Guest 24medgirl
I love the UTI bit too - it's so funny because I know I've told a doctor what to do before. I have a rare autoimmune disorder. Half the time they ask me to tell them what it is! Hee, hee. T.
Guest daryn
This is so true! (to the extent of my knowledge) I work at a GP's office as her assistant. People do get angry when we tell them that the refills cannot be done over the phone. It IS a logistical nightmare.
Guest physiology
Hehe.. As medical students, we're supposed to FIFE patients while doing a history. F - function - how does this ailment impair your FUNCTION? I - do you have an IDEA what it could be? F - what are your FEELINGS over this? E - what do you EXPECT out of this visit? In practice, physicians almost never "FIFE" but as medical students, you lose big marks if you don't ask these questions during clinical exams
