Voiding A Rewrite

Hi everyone,

I understand that when you void an exam, it doesn't get scored but AAMC still considers it as one of your attempts.

I am still waiting for the scores of my first exam to be released next week, but I also booked a rewrite 2 days after my first scores are available as a backup (just in case I'm not happy with my first score). I just wanted to reconfirm that if I am happy with my first scores, I will be able to void my second exam and apply using my first results as my "most recent MCAT taken". I won't be able to cancel my second exam because I'm past the bronze deadline.

Thanks!

According to The MCAT Essentials (PDF),

If you do not attend an exam for which you are registered, neither your registration nor your absence will be reported to schools. However, it will count toward the maximum attempts you are allowed within the testing years and over your lifetime. In addition, your registration fee will not be refunded.
