DeeDoc
Hey guys, Just wondering what would happen in this instance... I'm from Ontario but will be starting my residency at McGill. I'd like to come back to Ontario to do electives throughout my residency. I imagine I need to apply for a CPSO license before I can do an elective in Ontario? Do I need to do that now? Much appreciated!
Med0123
Hey I'e done both my MD and residency in the province of Quebec. I've done 3 electives in Ontario for personal reasons during PGY-4, and each time had to apply for an Elective application with CPSO. Use this link : http://www.cpso.on.ca/Registering-to-Practise-Medicine-in-Ontario/Registration-Applications-and-FormsPostgraduate Education Applications - ElectivesCPSO staff was very polite and efficient each time I had to deal with them ! Apply about 6 months before starting your elective, no less than 3 months. Good luck!
NLengr
You'll need a police vunerable sector search I think. Those can take months to get (depending on how long you have lived in your city, how many people are also requesting one, and how efficient your local police department is). I've lived in places where it took 7 days. I've lived in places where it took 4 months. I would start gathering stuff for my elective at least 6 months in advance.
