bluejays99
Hi, I was just wondering whether English or French is the most used language at this Hospital. I've heard many patients speak French as first language, but I'd like to know if English the language used when interacting with residents and docs. thanks

oshaku
Montreal children's is technically an English hospital, so all the staff should be able to speak English. It may not be their first language, and lots of people will be speaking French with each other, however everyone will switch to English if needed. You should be prepared for patients who don't speak any English though
F508
I used to volunteer at the Children's, and I had the impression that around 50% of the patients were francophone. The francophone staff are bilingual, however from my experience the staff is in majority anglophone. The anglophone ones often speak French, but with an accent. The hospital is very anglophone though. Residents and attendings speak amongst each other in English most of the time. This is my opinion as a past volunteer and from having met pediatricians from various specialties at the MCH.
