REQUIREMENT: One full year course (or two half year courses) in general biochemistry. This course should cover protein chemistry and the chemistry of other biomolecules, cellular metabolism and molecular biology. I am a student at Western University. I have completed 0.5 of this requirement by taking the following course at Western: "Biochemistry and Molecular Biology 2280". However, I am wondering what other half course would count for general biochemistry? The only other 2nd year level Biochemistry course at UWO is for upper year Food and Nutrition students only... and the remaining options don't seem like "general" biochemistry: Biochemistry 3381A - Biological Macromolecules Biochemistry 3382A - Biochemical Regulation Biochemistry 3385B - Human Biochemistry Biochemistry 3386B - Clinical Biochemistry Biochemistry 3390B - Advanced Methods for Biochemistry Will any of these courses count towards the requirements for general biochemistry? Do other universities offer an additional "half year" course in general biochemistry? I also would want to complete this requirement in summer school as I am in my 4th year and would either have to take it this semester (possibly tank my GPA as biochem is not my strongpoint), or take an additional semester in the following year which would interfere with entering into a Masters program in September (is doing this in the summer a bad idea?). Also, I have a 0.5 Pass/Fail credit remaining - would it be possible to turn a a prerequisite course into a pass/fail and still have it count? ANY help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I stumbled upon a thread that said UWO doesn't really look at the scores except for RC? Is this true and can anyone confirm?

Hi! I'm a Ontario grade 11 student and I'm aiming for dental school. Which undergrad would be the best? My average is 96 point something, and I was thinking toward uoft life science but many people had told me sooo many things about uoft that I'm scared to apply now. What should I do? In advance, thank you for your time!

Hi all, I'm looking to purchase soaps to practice for the MDT. The https://www.datsoapcarving.ca/soaps.php site has been sold out for weeks and CDA is super expensive. Anyone have any idea where I can purchase additional soaps to practice with? Also if people have tips on how to practice without soap (i.e. suggest other materials....I was thinking candles?) that would be great too!!

Curious to know peoples opinion about dental school in UWA, i know their cutoff is around 5.5/7.0 for their GPA (translates to a 2.75/4.0) and they have a cap of around 5 international students but im wondering if i should even apply.... honestly my GPA isn't the strongest but it is higher than the "2.75" they require (not by a crazy amount tho, im taking around 3.0-3.2). I haven't done my DAT yet but I do have intentions of doing it in the upcoming nov hypothetically speaking if you can kill the DAT, have good extracurriculars and do well on the interview, what are the ACTUAL chances of getting in? i just want to know if i should give up on this dream and continue to move on with my life or should I attempt it

This is the second time I took the DAT as I did a practice one early on in my undergrad. I am planning to apply to US schools this summer and Canadian schools this Fall. Please give me your honest opinions! I did well in some sections but not the best in others. Here are my scores: Reading 24 Bio 21 Chem 18 Science Total 19 AA 21 PAT 19 MDT 15 Overall my CGPA is 3.8 it would be higher for schools that drop your worst year. Uoft/UBC: 3.89, Western 3.92, Mcgill 3.8 I also have a ton of EC's, leadership experience, and dental volunteering/shadowing. But i'm worried about my PAT score. specific schools i'm looking at: McGill, Uoft, Western, Dal, UBC, and I'll also apply to UofS, UofA and UofM
