NorthernOntarioGal
I have a lower sGPA but what I perceive to be a strong supplementary application, so I only applied to Queens. I'm just wondering how other applicants compare since it's hard to tell how I rank. For PT experience, how many hours specifically did you have? PTapplicant2017
I have 200 hours at a hospital. Spread pretty evenly across cardio, MSK, and neuro divisions. No private clinic hours though... :/
KinGuy19
Hey! Similar to you I have a lower GPA (compared to all the 3.9+ people on here), but I have lots of experience! : Clinical Kin working with/alongside PT's and taking on a few of their clients: 2,500+ hours (1.5 years now...jeez...) Hospital PT/OT department summer student: 600+ hours Shadowed a sports PT working with Div 1 rugby for about 50 hours I also applied to UBC again (after getting waitlisted last year) and that would be my first choice as a BC resident. However Queens would be fun too!
Conham
I'd say worry less about the number of hours. it's more about what you got out of your time volunteering in a PT setting. They are looking for the right attributes while working in those settings. No one cares if you worked 1000 hours, if all you can say is that you worked 1000 hours lol. As someone outside of Ontario, is it less competitive for you since you'd be first pick for UBC?

I didn't think of it that way, that gives me confidence! I have ~500 hours between two private clinics, but both positions were unpaid. It's hard to dedicate a lot of hours to unpaid work as a student when working part-time gives provides so little income as it is.
