Letter for the police information check

I was told that in order to get a police information check, I need to provide the police station with a letter from u of a. Does anyone know where we get this letter?

Your offer of admission talks about it so that might suffice? I may be wrong but I think no matter what you are going to have to pay for it as it is not for a charity so they should just do it if you pay them. I'm in the same boat as you though so hopefully someone more knowledgeable chimes in.

They told me that they need a letter in order to authorize the police check. Even if I pay, they can’t do it without a letter

Weird. Did you have your admission offer printed and with you? That should count as a letter for their purposes.

No I didn’t. I’m going to try that tomorrow and see if they will accept that

If you are located in Edmonton, come to this place: 14315 118 Ave NW, Edmonton, AB T5L 4S6.

They are specialized in providing police check. It takes about 30 - 60 min. Fee is $50 if i recall correctly. You will walk out with the check. They did not even ask me for the offer letter.

Thanks for the advice, but I’m not in Edmonton  If anyone is wondering, I brought the admission letter with me today and they accepted that!
