UBC MPT Students - Working part-time/casual during school?

Recommended Posts

Hey current MPT students, has anyone successfully held a part time or casual job while going to school? I was accepted for this fall and want to keep working a couple hours on the weekends (not too much) but not sure if this will be detrimental to my studies. How heavy is the course load? Do you have much time for extracurriculars?

Also, for those not living on/close to campus, how long do you guys commute to/from school and how do you manage it?

I would appreciate your experiences/advice! Thanks!

Hello!

There are a few students in the program who do hold part-time jobs on the weekend and after class, me including. Its is definitely manageable as long as as its one day of the weekend and a shorter shift! Many students also commute from far. I commute about 40-50 minutes each way. Everything is manageable as long as you are fine with getting up early and leaving campus late!

Feel free to pm me if you have any questions,

Cheers!
