Pantaloons
I'm not a U Alberta student. When I created my account and application with Alberta, I used an external 3rd-party email provider. Now, on the application, it shows a new U Alberta email address. Is that where Alberta will be contacting us?? I don't even know the password for the U Alberta email.
Jochi1543
Yeah, they'll be contacting you through there. It's wise to set up forwarding, I simply forward stuff from there to my Gmail, otherwise I'd never check that e-mail. I set mine up last year (it stays the same if you reapply), and the login should be your last name (well, that's what it is for me, anyway), and I think the password came in that "CCID" e-mail they send us. And yes, I find it wayyyy too complicated as well.

zztop
Wait, does this mean that UofC has set up their own email account for me too? Or is this just a UofA Phenomenon?
Paulhammer
As far as I can tell, as soon as you have a student number or login ID at a university, they give you an email address - I just threw out an application to UBC nursing, and got a UBC email address for my troubles. Jamer
I probably get 15 spam messages a day, 5 of which aren't picked up by the junkmail filter. Webmail is useless.
Wut?
Stop signing up for mailing lists with your e-mail I've had my webmail for 3 years and have yet to receive a single piece of spam.

If you're accepted, I'm sure they do, but as an applicant, you will be contacted via your regular e-mail.
