Is There A Problem With Studying Overseas?

Recommended Posts

Good morning to all,

My name is Jess and I am very curious about why people claim studying medicine abroad is problematic. I am thinking of going to medical school and would like some advice on the whole controversy surrounding studying overseas. Below is a link to a website that discusses this issue at hand. Please feel free to voice your opinion and give your insight on the good and bad of studying abroad. Thank you in advance!  :)

1. Unless you have citizenship in the host country, it's generally very expensive (except Norway where it's free...yeah.)

2. If you want to return to canada/US after residency, you have to write several equivalency exams

3. If you want to return to canada/US for residency, good luck.

4.If you want to stay in the host country for residency, you're like bottom of the totem pole for residency matching. They generally give locals precedent when matching.
