HaliDent2020
Does it matter if you have job shadowing experiences or not?
cleanup
In a technical sense, no. Not for the application. It can help in an interview (gives you something to talka bout), but not necessary. Overall though, you should probably have some idea of what you're getting into before you get into it. AncientDentist
Western now has a section in their application which specifically asks about shadowing experience. In fact, they go so far as to ask us to justify why we may have had "minimal or no shadowing experience." SO yes.. definitely shadow at least a little bit. Enough to figure out what a dentist's day to day activities are.
msuneong
Yup, agree with cleanup - shadow because you should know the field you want to go into for the rest of your life
